Smart Office IoT Network System Design and Implementation
Scenario Description: IoT Project (Week 12):
The IoT Project will contain an account of work you have done around the below given TASKS. Each is concerned with the development of IoT scenario for sensing data, (scenario to be defined by each student, such as temperature/smoke/humidity, etc), from few installed IoT devices, and sends them to a configured Gateway device that acts as a local connection to your IoT smart devices.
The gateway device should be designed to provide Internet access, wireless connectivity, and local logic for smart devices. The Gateway device should provide an IoT registration service that is always turned on and an auto discovery service for Things in the local Ethernet and wireless configured network.
A user should be identified and connected to the configured gateway; the user can control and monitor the smart devices from smartphone, tablet, or PC.
Finally, a secure protocol should be configured to ensure a secure end-to-end communication channel between things within the network and controlling user to the local gateway.
- How to configure environmental control parameters within containers/set and write the related description in your report. (10 Marks)
- How smart devices interact with the created environmental elements by configuring different layers’ protocols and write the related description in your report. (20 Marks)
- How to adjust environmental elements within the scenario and write the related description in your report. (10 Marks)
- How to set/program conditions to take action based on defined environmental variables and write the related description in your report. (10 Marks)
- How to create things/sensors depending on the chosen scenario to adjust environmental elements and to program it with the set of rules to perform functions remotely and demonstrate graphs that shows the value of environmental elements at any given point in time throughout the day and write the related description in your report. (20 Marks)
- How to apply security protocols and configurations and write the related description in your report. (20 Marks)
- The report should be submitted along with the implemented project file demonstrating the entire work from the previous tasks A-F with a section including the literature review of the existing related work to the selected use case scenario with an abstract, introduction, and conclusion; the report should be not more than 15 pages including figures and tables. (10 Marks)
The network topology below satisfy the user requirements above and everything is verified, tested and working fine.
