Secure IT Consulting Company Network Design and Implementation
Scenario Description: Secure IT Consulting Network:
In this project, a student should assume that they are either an IT Consulting Firm or the IT Department of the company employed too. Either or, they will be reporting their project proposal to the CTO of the company.
Also, they need to assume that the company/business requires major network infrastructure and IT upgrades, to address aging equipment and software, growth in the business, and security issues, just to name a few. As well, as adding additional site locations/offices to their expanding business.
- The network design should include 5 or more site locations across 3 or more provinces or territories within Canada
- An advanced IT Infrastructure solution
- An advanced private routing and switching network utilizing an Ethernet L2 WAN (Wide Area Network) to connect the site locations also referred to service address - No serial connections
- A backup site or backup solution for the HQ Office and critical data
- 1 Internet ISP connection to the public internet, NAT/PAT must be configured
- 1 remote site with an IPsec VPN solution across the public internet
- Network Load balance and redundancy, e.g.: EtherChannel, HSRP, etc.
- Utilizing the assigned IPv4 and IPv6 addressing. Proper and detailed IPv4 and IPv6 subnetting, VLANs, switchport security, etc.
- Advanced dynamic routing and static routing
- Proper deployment of ACLs, VTY/ssh for remote access to key network devices
- Deployment of Server Services utilizing Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu) Server - AD DS, FTP, Web services, Group Policies, Users, Security Policies
- Deployment of Network Services - DHCP, DNS, Print Server, FTP and TFTP, HTTPs, NTP,
- Deployment of Client machines and other wired and wireless end devices utilizing Windows and Linux OS - End devices likeā¦ PCs, Servers, Laptops, Printers, IP phones, Smart phones, tablets, IoT and sensors devices, etc.
- Deployment of advanced Wireless solutions
- Deployment of advanced Voice over IP solutions
- Deployment of advanced IoT solutions
- Deployment of advanced virtualization and cloud solutions
- Database solution
- Mail (e-mail) solution
- Network Management, Asset Management, Radius/AAA, and Support Ticketing solutions
