Scenario Description: Secure IT Corporate Network:
CyberNet Ltd is a network design and management company. Its headquarters (HQ) is in Abuja. It has three branch offices in Lagos, Ogun and Abia. Their corporate management is based at their headquarters (HQ) in Abuja. The head office has seven departments: Management (6 staff), Engineering (25 staff), Sales (77 staff), HR (4 staff), Marketing (13) staff), Admin (11 staff) and IT (9 staff). Currently there are only two departments in each of the branch office: Sales (15 staff) and Marketing (2 staff). The number of staff in the company expected to double in three years' time. The company's servers currently located in a 'Server Farm' zone in HQ that can be accessed by all employees but only managed by the IT department. You and two other colleagues have been employed to work as a team to design a scalable, reliable and secured enterprise network for the company.
- Analyse the given business scenario to produce a reliable, scalable and secured network design based on the provided network requirements.
- Provide the network topology and IPv4 addressing table that illustrating the proposed network design and layout.
- Propose the right protocols for layer 2 and layer 3 network redundancy.
- Evaluate the potential security threats to the network and propose suitable and practical solutions to secure the network.
- The proposed network will provide secure Internet connection for all users. It will also provide secure communication between remote users and HQ and between HQ and branch offices using the appropriate VPN techniques.
- Identify the best routing strategy for the proposed network and justify for your decision.
- Propose other potential technologies based on your research that can be used in the future to improve the enterprise network such as cloud computing, SDN and Al etc.
- Document all the above design considerations in a 3000-word technical report.
- Implement Packet Tracer Implementation of Designed Network.
